Chaz Elsten has lived in Tucson for over 25 years. He grew up on the east side of Tucson and attended Sahuaro HS, where he was
very active in school activities, especially the marching band. Chaz attended Pima Community College before transferring to the
University of Arizona and receiving a degree in History and Political Science.
Prior to becoming an insurance consultant, Chaz worked as a geospatial engineer for General Dynamics, training administrator at
Raytheon Missile Systems and as public school teacher for TUSD. One of the things Chaz loves about insurance is being able to
educate clients about their insurance program.
Chaz's parents still live on the east side and his dad Neal is a pharmacist and his mom Rita works as an advisor for Pima Community
College. Chaz also has one older brother Chris, who lives in Phoenix working as a tattoo artist and plays in a rock band. He also has
an older sister, Courtney, who is a hair stylist at Essenza Salon here in Tucson.
Chaz has been married for two years to his wife Monica. Monica works as a graphic designer for a local printing company and they are
expecting the birth of their first child in November 2010. Chaz and Monica also have a 4-year-old yellow lab named Stoops (after U of
A football coach) that they enjoy playing with and taking swimming.
When not at work, Chaz enjoys spending time working out, biking, playing wiffleball, golfing and softball. Chaz also has a passion for
music and movies and even DJ's from time to time for friends at parties and weddings. Chaz also enjoys spending time with family
friends.
Chaz is also a huge Arizona sports fan, especially University of Arizona football. During football season, Chaz runs an Arizona
football fan group called the RED ARMY. On Saturdays, RED ARMY can be found on the UA Mall tailgating with friends and
families and of course at all the games. Chaz has not missed a home game since 2001.
Chaz is such a fan of University of Arizona football he has chosen to call his business Bear Down after the U of A's battle cry on the
field.
